note the following Interproject utilities are written to be portable and used in-line without changes across all English sister projects: ... and are adaptable multilingually as they incorporate a language parameter... so {{wpd-de}} could be written to a Template:Wpd version, wpd-fr (French), wpd-es (Spanish)... commons versions could be easily written. Their primary virtue is they automatically pipetrick the given page link and can be cut and pasted between projects without changes. Changing '[['' to {{xxx and ']]' to '}}' in a text editor like Template:Wpd takes but a moment to have working links to annotate either a category or an image from a source encyclopedia article. Reaching that source text, requires but the one link via a keyword and entering edit mode to expand on a cryptic description here. Using the language parameter, one can locate a page in a totally unfamiliar language, follow the interwiki back to English, and annotate from there and that process to better identify commons content.

Why: Common list summarizing and comparing the main templates available for user-oriented links between contents in galleries, categories, images, and sister projects. Excluded are disambiguation and redirection templates such as For2, and meta-templates such as lts, etc.
Notes: The template embeds its own heading so that section-editing edits the transcluded instead of the transcluder.
