Template:Heavily used template

Note: This template is used on a lot of pages. In order not to put too much load on the servers, edits should be kept to a bare minimum. Please discuss proposed changes on the talk page first.

Editing a template causes all pages that use the template to be re-rendered. If the template is used often, this can put a lot of load on the servers since it fills up the job queue.

Keep in mind that templates that are used on image description pages also show up on other wikis.

This template is intended to be placed in a noinclude section at the top of highly used templates.

This adds pages to Category:Protected templates, as it's assumed all tagged pages are fully protected.

{{Protected template}} - for high-risk templates that are used relatively less than ones that bare {{heavily used template}}, but are still highly visible or ones prone to vandalism).
{{Protected image}} - for high-risk images that are indefinitely protected.
{{Protected}} - general-purpose protection template.
{{Scriptuse}} - for images used by a MediaWiki tool or user script (not necessarily protected).
