TemplateData

TemplateData ist eine Möglichkeit, Informationen über Vorlagenparameter (die Beschreibung dieser und der gesamte Vorlage) für Menschen und Maschine lesbar zu speichern. Diese Technik wird vom VisualEditor und anderen Werkzeugen wie Upload Wizard genutzt.

Existing template documentation
At Wikimedia Commons, it is recommended to use {{TemplateBox}} with either useTemplateData=1 or useTemplateData=only on the /doc subpage and transcluding it with {{Documentation}} into the template. <nowiki>-tags can be wrapped around the the arguments, if required, to avoid templates being expanded.

Newly created template documentation and imports
Eine weitere Möglichkeit besteht darin, <templatedata>-Tags direkt in den Wikitext der Vorlage zu schreiben. Das ist besonders nützlich bei importierten Vorlagen oder für Benutzer mit JSON-Erfahrung.
