The template U generates a link to a user page. It can be used with either none, one or two parameters.
- The first parameter defines a user name; if absent, the name of the editing user is used.
- The second parameter defines the name to be displayed; if absent, the user name is displayed.
With the named parameter lang= any language code can be defined, it will establish interwiki access preceding the link to the user page.
For links to users of the German Wikipedia choose the more potent {{Ud}}.
