Character u+2009 also known as ''thin SP'' is an Unicode variant of the ordinary ''space''. It can be useful when <code><nowiki>''italics''</nowiki></code> gets too near to the following text. That could be a bug in the font or browser, but if adding a ''thin SP'' helps nobody cares whose fault it was. For backwards compatibility <code><nowiki><small>&amp;nbsp;</small></nowiki></code> used to be a better workaround, but the Unicode solution should be now acceptable. If you know u+2009 by heart just type <code>&</code><code>#x2009;</code> instead of <code>{{tlx|{{lc:{{PAGENAMEE}}}}}}</code> &mdash; this template is only for those folks who tend to forget the Unicode point.

Template documentation[ view · edit · history · purge ]
This documentation is transcluded from Template:Thinsp/doc.
This template inserts the Unicode character U+2009 (THIN SPACE), and is intended to be used instead of HTML entities &thinsp; / &#8201; / &#x2009; to improve wikitext readability.
